It was suggested that I post pics of the family heirloom I got this summer because its in such great shape. Notice I didn't say "mint condition" so I have some work to do on it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. grin

Hey Patti. I'm impressed with your "new" ride. I love old boats and yours is a beauty. That motor will run forever. I also have a 1960 Crestliner so this post caught my eye. If you want you can email me...I've been riggin/customizing boats for many years. Maybe I can help. I'd hate to do much to yours as it's pretty much original(outside anyway), but we could do a little tweaking smile

Thanks guys! Unfortunately I can't take credit for the great shape its in but I can make sure it stays that way if not improve upon it. My grandfather bought it brand new in 1960 and it was the first boat I ever fished in.

fishinmajishin - I'd take you up on the email offer but unfortunately your post didn't include your email address.

Feel free to email me at [email protected].

Nice boat. Gotta love the old stuff. Go through the motor to make shure its in top shape. Replacing the impeller as said before is good insurance, make shure the coils are in good shape. Best part is parts are plentiful for that motor. Have fun.

My neighbor has an almost identical motor on his mid '70's Lund Mr Pike. Runs like a champ!

Have any pics of the Mr. Pike? Just curious as to what they looked like back then. I have an 01' 17 Mr. Pike.

I think I did very well last weekend. The ladies were very patient. Of course I was about to lose my cool with the pull start. And oh yeah, took me a couple of hours to figure out that I didn't have to hold on to the throttle continuously. My hand felt like it was going to fall off until then. I'm sure I'll still be learning tricks to get in/around the dock areas.

I'm sure there's an art to multi-tasking - trolling, fishing, reading the depth finder..but I'm sure I'll get it.

Thanks for asking.
