First big fish from the canoe

I got the canoe out last night on one of our lovely city lakes. Not long into this trip, I caught this big mama. It was a long battle, but she was hooked well and I was able to put her in the net. 25" long, caught on a leech fished off the bottom in about 10'.

I need to figure out how to take a good picture from the canoe while fishing solo. That'll be a project for today.

Husker, nice fish. It is always a challenge taking a nice picture out of yak/canoe.

I know a guy who made a swiveling arm that clamped on the gunwhale or maybe the yoke. snap the camera in, set the timer, and smile! Don't know the specifics of how it works but I bet you could come up with something pretty good
