2008 Fantasy Draft

Yeah,

It's going to be a tough decision... Who do you take, LT or Peterson????

LT really has something to prove this year if he wants to maintain #1 RB status. And will teams have restructured their defences to slow down Adrian?

I think I would go with LT one more year if I had to choose.

This is a tough choice!! LT has proven himself year after year so it is tough to go against him. I love Adrian, but he has only been in the league for a year. Not saying he won't do it again, but I would take LT just to be on the safe side. That would make my pick at #2 very easy, AP!! grin.gif

i don't think peterson has LT status yet...no question he's a beast but 1 season can't put you on top even though u have a season like peterson did...he wasn't to fantasy friendly when teams came up with the idea just to stack the box and laugh at our passing game.

its tough not to pick peterson though just for the fact he's on your favorite team and his potential is off the chart...nothin more fun then watching your RB play every week. i'll say i'd take LT but when the clock is running down and i had the choice there's no saying which one i'd pull the trigger on....if money was on the line i'd probably have to go with LT just for the fact he does what he does year in and year out.

Gotta take into consideration if you play in a PPR league too. That can make a big difference between two RB's.

Peterson had a big blow-out game which was equal to almost three 100-yd games, so his total numbers were a bit inflated and you have to look past the raw data to see what those numbers actually mean. Sometimes you have to do that to see what you're truly getting in a FFB player. He also had a lot of duds at the end of the season and I want a player that shows up every week. Now that's not saying he won't become more consistent on a weekly basis, but we haven't seen that yet and it's much too early to take him in the first few picks at this point. He could be a big risk-reward player as the upside is high, but if you have the first few picks I'd rather spend it on an established player you can count on week to week. The lack of receptions and splitting time with Taylor also are two knocks against him as a FFB player.

All depends on how your league is organized, but personally I would set the purple glasses down beside the kool-aid and think about letting him slide back to you later if you have others in your league who are savvy to how FFB works and also realize he isn't a top-tier RB yet. If there are people in your league that pick based on their favorite team then you may miss him and you'll find a better player in your lap. But hey, what do I know, I'm just a 4x FFB champ and I don't have a "favorite" team that can cloud my judgment. ;\)

Now quit talking about FFB because it's still a long ways away yet and "it's the most wonderful time...of the year." grin.gif
