Steve Foss
The new Canon 400 f5.6L came in today's UPS shipment, and while I've shot this lens before I've never owned it. Not to mention I sold my old friend, the 100-400, so this is my new supertele. So what could I do but point it out the office window early this evening and grab a couple robins. Note: These images show barely more than 20 percent of the original capture. In other words, with my original 8 Mp RAW images, almost 80 percent has been cropped out. The dark edges on some of the birds' breasts are not sharpening halos but slight shadow from the sun's angle. Steve Foss
The weather's going down the crapper starting tomorrow and maybe lasting through the weekend. Might be a good time to get down to some open water, put on the waterproof cammies and get some shots of waterfowl through the snow.
MN Shutterbug
Snow? You still have snow? You get down to that water and capture some BIF's. I seem to be the only one contributing to that thread.
Steve Foss
Through the FALLING snow, Mike, and no doubt BIFs will be part of the deal.
