hoggs222
I have been addicted to this stuff! What stores have you found the biggest king crab for the price? Also, what sides do you serve with it?My roommate whips up some tasty mashed red potatoes with dill dip and red onion mixed in. You have to serve and mix corn in the taters also!

prov1900
We get our stuff at Sam's. Their king crab is pretty good and the prices aren't too bad. There are some on-line places that will ship them from the source fairly quickly and for what you are getting, they aren't priced too bad.
Sandmannd
We go with Sam's or Cub. Don't buy the king cause you don't get but a couple of legs for the money. Usually get the two pound bag and it's a tastey meal. Make some lipton noodles, rice or tators with them and you can't beet it.
Gary Crichton
Ah yes crab legs mmmmmmm-good. I like the snow crabs as they do taste better then the King as MN HUNTER said. However it is a lot more work getting at the Snows. The Kings will give you a filet of crab. Alot less work. The Kings are a little harder to handle as they have some sharp points on them. Kings will be a little more expensive. This is the time of year they usually go on sale, but have not seen it yet. The Golf club my buddy is a memeber usually has a crab nite in April, but advised us that they are not seeing any good prices out there this spring. It is a all you can eat, and believe you me we do some damage.Sides I like is a baked potato and a salad. Veggie is optional. I guess it depends on how hungry you are. Got to save room for CRAB. Great now I got a craving. Just keep looking for sales from Rainbow or Sam's club. It should happen soon.......Has anyone tried cooking in the Micro wave. It isn't bad if you do it right. A lot quicker and less mess.
hoggs222
For the king crab, I use sea scissors. I think they're made for cutting baitfish or something. It slices right through it. No spikes poking you.
thirdeye
I like the king when I can get it. Albertsons will have it for around $11 a pound and they will let you pick the ones you want. I either like steamed veggies (including corn on the cob) and new potatoes, or a veggie pasta for side dishes. I just cooked some up a couple of weeks ago....I need a bigger steamer. Heheeee. Although I like it steamed, I also will keep the clusters of the backs and make gumbo, which has shrimp, mussels, smoked chicken and sausage in addition to the crab. Oh yeah, okra is in there too. prov1900
That looks really good. Good enough that I would have to call in for work on the next day.
