thinking of getting rid of my big ,heavy, gas guzzling,loud, generator. 4400 watts,for camping. and replace it with a honda,never going to run air with it only maybe a microwave,toaster,tv,or at home a submersable sump pump, when power goes out.will i be able to get by with the 1000 watt honda? or go with the 2000 watt one?

Find out how much each appliance will draw and go with the one that will handle that draw. I have been looking at the 2000eu and 3000eu both are very nice. the 2000 is more "portable" but the 3000 will take care of whatever I can think!

Also remember that the rating is peak watts. the 2000 is rated for 1600 continuous watts.

The 1000 watts is 8.33 amps,a small micro will take around 10 amps running,but needs a burst of more amperage to start.So the 1000 isnt enough to even run it.The 2000 is yes twice the amps,like air said continous run is 1600 watts 13.3 amps.Your cuttin it close.The other appliances you stated I know TVs are rated as watts 60 I believe for a smaller TV.Sump pump???.The micro if you could go without would work on the 1000.

For the price, the 2000 is the best, then if you want to run AC, you can get another 2000 and hook them together for just a little more than a 3000 and much more portable. I have seen eu3000's that will run some AC units, but I have also seen where it won't run an AC unit. A dual 2000 (4000 watts) will power anything on a camper.

The 1000 won't even run a plug in griddle.

Follow what sparcebag said. I had the 1000 Eu and it just ran out of snort. I now have the 2000 Eu and life is good. For the little price differenc the 2000 is the way to go.

Its unlikely that it will start your sump pump. I would go up to the 2000.

As far as a sump pump when the power goes out - I rigged up a 12v bilge pump by putting on a longer cord and a few fitting so I can attach it to a hose. I use the boat battery during the winter, and can actually hook it up to the car in the garage if needed. I have a walk out so the lift wasn't an issue. It is great to have around. I've also used it to empty a friend's sunken boat, empty an aquarium, and get a few gallons of water onto a friend's lawn at his cabin.

You will not be dissapointed with the 2000. I am looking to add a second one in the near future for running the ac on my toyhauler.
