House Finch

The return of the ugly snow today had one bright spot. The birds have been very active. have had a of house finches at the feeders. Even found one that posed for a photo. Canon 30D & 100-400mm, 1/1000 sec at f/5.6. Fortunately, all we received was about an inch of snow that has mostly melted.

WCS I hope you don't mind me posting this picture on your thread. I took this yesterday and was not sure what it was, they look the same to me. By the way I really like your shot.

Charlie, it's either a house finch or a Cassin's finch. I'm leaning toward house finch because of the strongly streaked belly and sides.
