ptkane
If the overhangs were full of leaves, I'd pitch a jig right into them or thru them -- then shake the jig in the 'eternally dark' zone.

fishinteen
First thing I would do is run a camera down there to id The fish so you dont end up fishing a pod of suckers like I did.
BassProAddict
Here's an odd one...3 FOW,ultra clear, lots of submerged HUGE boulders. No fish in plain sight.Would you still cast at it?Me:What the heck, you never know.Next: super calm stained water. You hear occassional splashes, do you throw where the splash happened or some distance from it? Since there was splashing, do ou go topwater?I'd throw about 5 feet around it but I'll use a slow sinking worm.
Daze Off
I always cast at likely targets - no matter if I can see fish or not. Biggest bass of last season came in gin clear water on bright sunny morning off the outside corner of a dock that I swear nothing could have been under because I could see every detail of the bottom. Still have no idea where that fish came from to annihilate my buzzbait. Water was no more than 18" deep. Not the first time something like this has happened. ptkane
I would leave because the splashing is probably carp!
RiverBassGuy
If it's 3 feet and clear, I'd toss a dark colored senko (that's right! lazy man's fishing) near the splash and other likely areas. If it's rocks can we assume it's a crayfish haven? If so, I'd twitch a spot remover with a dark red craw plastic!
BassProAddict
Here's a simple one: Open water with 10FOW.Grass all around with sand patches in between.Do you go Texas,Carolina or D-shot?
