If im going to come over the boarder, and dont want to go to far, where does a guy go. I live in the west park of the cities.

Thanks for the help

Well there's Bass Lake in St. Croix county. From the sounds of it there's a fairly good number of bass in it (go figure), but there doesn't seem to be much size. Otherwise you have to head a little north to Polk County. Wapogasset might be a good bet, I know it has a good population and some decent sized fish, and you have a chance to even hook into pike up to 40 inches as well. Another good early season bet would be the Apple River Flowage. A few years back Team Bass opened their year with a tourney on the Flowage (it gets really weedy late in the year), and I think a 20lb bag won it. I haven't caught many (I fish it for ski's) but with all that cover and the abundance of small gills there's bound to be a lot of quality fish in there.

And then there's my cabin's lake, Magnor. Probably wouldn't recommend trying it as there really aren't areas to target that will consistently produce fish, particularly early in the year. Late fall they will occasionally stack on a few places and you will just destroy them (we're talking a fish over 2lbs every cast destroy), but during the spring they are widespread. Quite a few 20"+ fish in there to be had, but I can't say I'd recommend it over the other lakes. You can get lucky there but it really is a gamble.

mallileu in north hudson can be pretty good. Large mouth and smallmouth its the closest lake to the cities. It has a dirt ramp but Ive launched a 21ft triton there many times with no problems.

J'man,

I wouldnt say that I spend as much time over in Sconnieville as I do MN, but I do spend my fair share over there for sure. Unfortunatly I will be Turkey hunting opening weekend. But you will find me over there every weekend after that till MN opens, and then even more after that.

I find many of the WI lakes get less pressure, and can provide some great bass fishing. Just got to puddle jump till you find one that fits your style!

You have my e-mail bro, shout out if you want some help!
