2008 Lakemaster Chips at Sportshow

Hookmaster

Question

I plan on buying both chips. Are they selling them any cheaper than $99 each? I emailed Lakemaster and they didn't know if they would be having any deals. If not I'll just get them at a retailer although I should probably get my Leech Lake knife sharpened. Anything else at the show new and different to get me to go?

Is there that big of a difference between 07 and 08? If not, I would spend the $50 for the 07. I used the 07 for a year and had no problems at all. Most places I went (except small lakes) were on there.

I saw 07 Nav chips for $79.99 at reeds I believe. If you have a LUND and are looking for a great deal on some shirts, stop by their display, the little wood cabin and on the west side the shirts are there. I have no idea what they may have left for sizes.

From some of my research so far (using information on the Lowrance and LakeMaster websites):

The 2007 and 2008 chips both have 748 lakes, but 18 of them are new MN lakes and 18 other lakes were dropped from the chip (1 IA, 7 MI, and 10 SD lakes). Perhaps they're running into a maximum data capacity.??

More positively, the number of HD lakes increased from 80 on the 2007 chip to 126 on the 2008 chip. (Out of the 270 total lakes on the 2006 chip, only 59 were HD.)

16 lakes were upgraded from 3-foot to 1-foot contours, 29 were upgraded from 5- or 10-foot "DNR map" contours to 1-foot HD maps. Of the 18 MN lakes new to the 2008 chip, one is done in 3-foot and 16 are done in 1-foot HD contours.
