lotsofish
That wasn't any time recently, I don't think. Ice is only 6-7 inches and pretty clear. I took the kids sight fishing for sunnies and some crappies in 5-6 fow about a month ago and it was a good time.Weren't you afraid of dropping your camera down the hole? FishinChad
Lots of hidden fish in the 5fow and less areas, they dont seem to get targeted too often by ice fisherman. Good way of thinking outside the box to get onto some nice fish, gotta find some green weeds though!
DHanson
Cool video! Sight fishing is a blast! I was fortunate enough to do some sight fishing last weekend on some big sunfish and crappies in 10 FOW. Fish would come in suspended about 5 feet below the ice and water was crystal clear. It's odd not using the electronics to catch fish for once.
fishcast
Thats great stuff! I've done that before and its interesting trying to get video, set the hook, and then land the fish without losing something down the hole.By the way this last week I have been fishing around the metro area and have yet to catch a sunfish or crappie over 13 fow and most fish have been around 6-10 fow and thats including the ice on top of it, some good fish too. Cyberfish
I keep it on a leash! it is water proof, but would sink like a rock!I got them sunday, the ice is over a foot thick, no green weeds in this lake. it appears to have suffered a partial winterkill, there were quite a few fish on the bottom and under the ice that have been dead for a while. Once we had some melting and runoff, the fish started to bite, but they are really shallow where some fresh water is getting in there. there is nothing deep, no oxygen there I think.I got mine on a small hair jig, plastics and live bait were getting em too.
