X2 vs X thermal

You guys that have either a X2 or X thermal, do you wish that you would have purchased the other one or are you happy with the one you have. The wife gave me the go ahead to get one and I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get. Can someone give me a good reason why the X therm is not build on the same tub as the X2 or why they won't traplink together?

I have the X2 and if the sun is shining it is hot inside, but after dark I do like to run the big buddy heater, I guess I am getting soft, with all these modern comforts... My question is that if you did run a heater in the thermal type, the material should breathe less then the x2 would, so would more moisture build up inside or not?

They do link together just fine. You need to use the link for a voyager instead of the yukon.

I could not tell you about the auger fitting because I have mine on the rack of the wheeler also. I spoke with Dave Genz about the old style tub on the x thermal and he said they did it because it has more room on the inside. Personally, the heavy duty sled was one of the main reasons why I bought my X2.

So what does the X2 offer that the thermal dosen't, other than 2" in width and length? I understand the tub is thicker and has more slope to it but I have been told that the thermal actually has more storage space because the end isn't as sloped.

The thermal DOES have more storage space than the X2. Another benifit is the thermal has more room between the seats. My only knock on the thermal is the sled. My X2 is always behind the 4 wheeler and I like the thicker tub. The X2 also has more ribs on the bottom for hyfax. It has 6 I believe as opposed to the thermals 2 ribs. The thermal uses the Voyager tub. I put a couple of holes in the tub on my Yukon and that is what made me pull the trigger on the X2. If they offered the thermal with the good tub, I would really think about upgrading again but until that happens I really like the X2.
