Lunar eclipse

Yes, in the fact that I'm going to reel up for a 1/2 hour and watch it. No lines, no fish. Should be excellent viewing on a cold clear night with the moon high in the sky. I think it starts around 7:45 to the actual full eclipse around 9:00.

Seriously, though, I'd say no. Just my opinion, no fact or theories other than that the moon will be full leading up to it and after it. No different than heavy clouds passing through.

As far as movement of the tides go, I thought they were representative of the gravitational pull between the earth and the moon, and had little to do with the sun. The earth is passing between the sun and the moon, but the distance and relationship of the earth and moon is not changing. I'd say the tides are unaffected by a lunar or solar eclipse. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Tides affect fishing...on the coast line. LOL's

Like them wiskers in Lousiana as water flows into pools and flows back outwards. You can stage right at those water channels for best of luck.

As for ice fishing?....

Eclipse are caused by alignment of shadows...effect on fishing, is just as much as any shadows I guess. Shadows don't have any affect tides.

Well, maybe if somebody catches a monster mooneye (lol's) then what?...

Fishing was no worse (nor better) than other nights due to the eclipse. It was a perfect oppurtunity to see it though! Clear, crisp night and the lake was a great spot for viewing. Got to see it rise last night, throught he different parts of the eclipse, and got to see it set this morning on my way to work. Pretty Cool!
