fischer,

the FishTV is a great unit. It's a very clear picture. I recommend using a 12v battery with it (it comes with the power cord) The Softcase for the FishTv makes it easier to have it portable...that accessory will be in stores in the next few weeks.

Cabelas has a great unit for $119. I beleive it is called "Cabelas advanced angler underwater viewing sytem". It comes with a 12v, a very nice soft case, infrared lights and 50ft cord.

The fish TV does not come with any batteries so you need to use C cell batteries. The C cell batteries do not last very long so the $20 diffference would be eaten up in batteries in no time. If you buy a 12v they are around $20 so you might as well by the one from Cabelas and get the infrared lights and soft case.

Yes, the Fish TV does have adjustable IR, the only thing i dont like about it, is that you can't use it nearly as late in the day as a standard Aqua VU. It becomes dark in no time. However, i have only used it this winter (with ice on lake) so i dont know if that plays into it. All in all, if you are looking for a good camera at an affordable price, the Fish TV is the way to go.

The one at Cabels is adjustable. As far as the fish shaped camera I personally don't think it a big deal. I have the one from Cabelas and have had fish swimming right next to the camera. On the other hand I have heard from a number of guys about thier fish shaped camera getting hit by a pike and the camera is ruined.

Trust me if you want a good camera get the one from Cabelas. If you look at the Marcum 250 it is the same unit as the Cabelas unit, only differences is a 50' cord vs a 65' cord and a green case vs a black case.
