Portable Wiring

I've got mine wired on the center pole of my flip over. They seem to stay out of the way when taking down and setting up. The wire runs along the pull and down into my sled. There i have it hooked to switches...one for each light so i can control better. I intend to place 3-4 more lights in the portable and have them switch opperated.

What portable are you trying to wire up?

I ran mine attatched to the poles where they do not slide with electrical tape. Where the pole slide, I leave it loose until the part that does not come in contact with the stationary. From there I taped it to the poles agian up to the light. The only part that it is not attatched is where the pole slide into each other.

When I had my Yukon, I had 2 4' led ropes zip tied to the overhead poles. The wires went down the side poles into an ammo box that was mounted to the sled. I had switches and a cig lighter in the box where I also kept 3 vex batteries. The lights were tied to the poles only where the pole slides over the other. I never had any problems with the wires binding. The only issue I had was the wires in the lights weren't really made for the cold, or not made to be bent or something and the insulation would crack. I have not put any kind of a box in my X2 yet. I have them strung the same way but I just hook them to a battery with a clip.

I used the wiring for a car charger, and it works great. The wiring expands with the poles when you set it up.

I have also updated this setup and now have a switch system. I connected a plastic Plano broadhead "box" (for the battery) directly to the sled.
