my friend has a fl-18 and we will be fishing in the same house maybe 3-5ft apart. i have done the research on both.

you can tune the noise out with both units.

Can we use the fl-18 and the lx-3 side by side? a guy at gander said the lx-3 will work fine but the vex will have issues, he also said if i'm stuck on marcum go to the lx-1 - less power so the vex will work better.

if i make his vex not work he will kick me out of the house!!!!

am i better off going with the same that he has?

does the lx-1 and vx-1 both have the green red yellow?

The VX-1 is a 3 color unit and I have to say for the money is the best deal around. I have fished with all of them and the vex is always going to have trouble around a marcum but as will the vx-1 near a lx-3. Just wont be as bad and more likely easier to clear up. The power output is just way more in a lx-3 and lx-5 than in any of the Vex's or the VX-1.
