Good rod for baitcaster

What's a decent rod to pair with my Revo on the ice? I've got it on an Ugly Stick right now, and I like using the baitcaster, but the rod sensitivity isn't the greatest. Looking for something with a reel seat.

That's the only drawback of a baitcaster is that you need a rod handle with a reel seat, as I don't know how to tape it onto a tennessee handle or that it'll be manageable. I've seen a Genz baitcaster rod 36" as also the combo with the 42" rod. Typically sensitivity isn't something I've gotten into for my baitcaster ugly stick combo as since I'm using 1/4 oz or heavier jigs.

For what type fish and lure size?

For lakers, pike and bigger fish and lures the Jason Mitchell Mackinaw with the spiral wrap guides is a great baitcaster rod for the price. The Genz baitcaster rods are also a good stick. On the more pricey end you can try Thorne Brothers, Midwest Rods, Scotties and several other "Customs".

Best advice is get your reel into a store with many rods to choose from and set it on a few and see what feels best to you.

For walleyes and crappies, jigging a chubby darter and similar lures on 4-6 lb test.

I love using baitcasters icefishing as my deadstick rod. You can just leave the reel in freespool. As far as the rod I am not much help. I just have a real cheap one on it.

I use a custom Thorne Bros rod with my Revo. I highly recommend it.

Since you already have a higher end reel, I would say to mate it to a higher end rod.

IMO I don't think they have the backbone for it and the handles with the real seats are quite heavy.
