VEXILAR WHAT MODEL?? PLEASE HELP

I would stick with a unit that has a zoom. I've used the fl-18 and 20.I use the zoom all the time , in fact i cant even imagine using a unit without a zoom.

Fisky, brings up a good point, when buying a reconditioned unit from Vexilar you will be getting a flasher for roughly 30% off new price yet still have the same factory 2 year warranty.

Ok ok, so i went and baught the 18. EXTREMELY FRUSTERATING and confusing to learn how to use at first, once i got the hang of it I really started catching fish. I found this unit to be real helpful in catching fish that i without the vexilar wouldnt of known were there. Heres the fish we kept last night we threw a bunch back and kept our limit (20)

Not a bad way to start out using the Vex! Congrats on the purchase and the good outing. I picked up a FL-18 used off of this site at the end of last season and it's made a huge difference for me. On the lake I fish the most during the winter, we would only hit crappies during the day and they seemed to shut down at night. Now with the Vex we were able to stay on them after dark and extend the day of fishing.
