Rattle Spoon Tip?

Maybe everyone knows and does this but anyhows....Lots of us use Rattle spoons of one type or another. Lots of these depending on maker will come out of the package with that brass rattle thats molded into the spoon covered in a thick coat of paint of one type or another.

Wanna make those rattle spoons alot louder? Scrape the paint covering the rattle off of there and the Db level increases by at least double!

May not be as pretty that way but they'll be louder!

Or you get one of those sliding brass klacker, but I've used a brass bullet sinker and let your rattle spoon slide and hit it. I've heard that the tungsten one is even louder.

If you can deal with chipping paint and scratches. You slide the line through the eyelet on the rattle lure and then tie direct to the brass sinker. When you jig, your rattle lure will hit your sinker.

Well I've got no real data to prove that...but hey!

Fisky I also add 2 small willow leaf or colorado blades onto the 0 ring on my spoons. This gives a lot of flash and click/clack as it gets drifting down and lifted up. Amazing how much better some spoons work with these added. Especially the flutter type spoons like the Slender Spoons.

This also works great on your bottom bouncers in the summer.
