well i just got some and they seem to be working for me i wwas out for 1 week and only caught 2 fish then i went out sat. and caught 6 and missed a few but by watching the camera the fish came in to the weeds and hung around. on sat. i had the 5 weeds spread out about 4 ft away from my holes and about 5 ft away from each other and had lots of perch and walleye come in but on sun. i tried it a litte bit differnt by putting them about 2 to 3 feet apart and it seemed to bring in more northerns.

I have the Reel Weeds form Ladredge and without hesitation would get the weeds out if I was on a lake in your description. They'll pull those crappies in and keep them there.

Mnhunter, we both fish the same lakes. Reel Weeds are always in my arsenal. When I put my perm house out I set a row of weeds beside it. When I'm going to stay put in my portable for a bit I put down weeds. About the only time I don't use weeds is if I'm runnin and gunnin. Even then, if I find fish sometimes I put down weeds.

If you wander upon suspended crappies this technique is deadly. If you are in 50' of water and find crappies at 20', hanging weeds at their depth is definately the ticket.

The lakes I normally fish are 6-10 feet deep. Most of the fish, including the crappies, are close to the bottom or a couple feet off bottom. The weeds being 4' are perfect for me.
