some tournaments are listed here in tournament section

classic bass has many more listed

for walleye tournaments also see Walleye Central

would like to see more listed at Fishing Minnesota

One tournament we posted here last year had excellent results by using Fishing Minnesota

it is a zero cost way of getting the word out

I'd say as far as costs then YUM hit it prettymuch into the ballpark. Other costs are generally split between boater and non-boater (gas, etc.).

At least in B.A.S.S. clubs the tournaments have no money on the line except perhaps a few bucks for big fish if you enter. They compete essentially to go to the state Tournament of Champions which is the first step toward working your way up the ladder to the BassMaster Classic. It is a LONG ladder...LOL

Anyway, most clubs do give out cash at the end of the year for Top Hook or Biggest Bass for the season, etc.

It is a great way to get your feet wet and decide if you want to take the next step toward fish-for-cash tournaments. Tournament fishing is very different than recreational fishing.
