ultimate walleye reel

Recommended Posts

I just cannot decide between these two reels, the Shimano Saros or the Stradic MgFB. Can someone please lean me towards the better of the two. I can get the Stradic for about the same price as the Saros so the price isn't an issue.

Feedback greatly appreciated

I have had Stradics and they have been good reels. However, the Saros is a brand new reel that was previously only available if you ordered the Japenese model last year, which I doubt many people did. The Saros is supposed to have a new feature that eliminates line twist. I can't really describe how it does it but it has something to do with how fast or the spool moves while you are reeling. Until people try the new reel I would reserve judgement on which one to get. That's not to say the Stradic's not an excellent reel because it is, but the Saros could be a very nice one as well.

The new handles are screw in direct so that makes breakdown faster. I find the new 2008 spinning reels to be less smooth in comparison to their predecessors. After playing with them in store for like after a month I went with the new Sustains. I remember the Stradic MgFA to be quite smooth and lighter as well as more rigid. The Stradic MgFB hadn't come out yet at the time of my purchase.

Hands down Stradic MgFB. You'll get the better line wrapping on the spool Areowrapp II.
