Searching GPS Coordinates

I am playing around with my Lowrance iFinder hunt trying to figure out how to "search" for specfic GPS coordinates. I can't seem to figure how to to search for specific coordinates. I have tried the Find button but it doesn't seem to work that way. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not an expert on the Ifinder (or much else for that matter), but if it is anything like mine you first have to create a waypoint using your coordinates. Once that is done, then you can go to waypoints and tell it to find on the map.

I have better luck doing the work on the computer. I bought the set of discs that work with the Ifinder. You can use that to mark places, change the names of a waypoint, set up routes, the whole works. You can then save the stuff on the computer and call it back up again. I do that for my SD hunting trips every year. If you don't do this you end up losing the details of routes and trails.

I probably have saved enough in batteries to pay for the software. That unit really eats batteries when you're screwing around changing waypoints.

It's called MapCreate and is part of what you see if you search for anything related to the Lowrance GPS units. The Big C has it for $90. You also have to have a jobberdo that lets you read the cards from the GPS and put them into the computer. The one I have is a ScanDisk SD/MMC - whatever that means. If you go this route buy a card that lets you put 512 gigs/megs(?) on it and you can save the map for the entire 5 state area on one card. If you go bigger it takes too long to load.
