Broken rod tip. Will Cabela's exchange it?

I was wrapping up after a night of fishing last night... I hooked the jig on the specialized eyelet towards the rod handle. I then reeled in the line so the tension would hold it, and the rod snapped towards the tip. It was the XML ice fishing series from Cabela's. Will they exchange this rod setup for a new one considering I'm not at fault?

I don't see why not. There return policy is the best around. There products are also guaranteed for life.

I don't know if they will replace them, but my dad has had a couple xml's pop their tops while in his rod bag. I haven't seen others posts about them breaking. Let us know how it goes.

Go into the bargain cave next time in Cabelas- they have racks and racks and then even more racks full of broken tipped rods, more open water than ice- but they should replace it.

I think it shouldnt be a problem i returned one last week for the same reason. they were very good about it.

I can almost guarrantee we can do that for you. Bring it on in and one of us from fishing help you get taken care of. Be sure to get it tagged by the guy standing at the front of the store first though.

I would assume they would, in order to stay competative. I know Gander does for their Guide Series Rods.

Yes they will, I just recently did the same thing with an XML rod from cabelas. Ask them politly if you can buy your reel back and they might even sell it to you for next to nothing. I had an abu garcia and I really liked it so I wanted it back. I actually got mine back for free due to an error at the register, the service lady said here you go, merry Christmas. Has anyone else had a problem with XML rod tips breaking? Nice combos for the money though!

Cabelas has one of the best return policies I have seen. I have never even been asked why I am returning something....especially if you just want the same thing in return.

Brought it in today. Unfortunately they could not exchange it because they were completely sold out of these combos, but they did give me my money back!

I'm a little disappointed I didn't catch this earlier. The combo was on sale for only $20!!!!!
