ice armor suit cleaning

anyone have any suggestions on how to clean there suit if they get a dirt spot, mud etc..on there suit without cleaning the whole suit? any soaps work better than others? thanks

I find rubbing some snow on it when your out on the lakes helps to get the small stuff out.

On a side note, what is the best way to wash the entire suit? Can you stick it in the washer/dryer or does it need to be dry cleaned. Thanks

Good question, my jacket has a ton of grease on it after this weekend!!

If you look on the reverse side of the tag in the jacket it will tell you to hand wash only I believe. I have taken soap and a wet washcloth and wiped the entire suit down and let it hang dry. It does comes out looking pretty good.

Just look at the tag for directions.

is it ok to use a detergent? i have heard it will gunk up and ruin the waterproofing on some rain gear.

When I had my ice armor suit (recently switched to Arctic armor) I washed it in my washer on the hand wash cycle and then hung it to dry. I used very very little detergent. It worked great!

You can buy special soap for gortex and waterproof material that doesn't plug up the material. I was told that using regular soap some how inpedes the material from being water proof and continuing to breath. I bougth a kit from cabelas and washed my gortex bibs in and it worked great. It's a two part kit with soap and a spray to put on afterwards. I'm going to try it on my ice armour this week. I'll let you know how it turns out.

i contacted ice armour about this directly and they actually answer this question on their HSOforum....its under the q and a section. but it basically says to hand wash. one of the employees said its ok to use "light" detergent and put them on the delicate cycle. hang dry when done. did it last night and they came out fine
