LX-5 Question

I sold my FL-12 and bought a LX-5 (funny to think 90%+ of readers know what I am talking about) and when reading the manual it says to hook up only the positive terminal of the battery. Why not both? Would it be a problem to hook up both? I already did since I never run any battery that way. I have to say, it is great having a unit that shows what you need in every situation not just some. Iced my first crappie and it was a whopping two incher. \:\)

I just picked up another LX-5 last Friday. Both terminals on the battery had protective plastic on it, therefore, both terminals (one each from the flasher and one each from the DCS) had to be plugged together and then plugged onto the battery. Maybe they used to come that way but, the manual is wrong. Not a biggie though.

I took that to mean that the negative wire was hooked up at the factory and all that was necessary was to hook up the red one. On mine though, neither one was hooked up when I got it.

I wasn't very impressed with that manual overall. Other than that I love the thing though.

Just remember that if you dont use the flasher for a long time either leave the charger on it or disconnect the DCS. The DCS draws enough juice to fry a battery over the summer. When you suck a battery completely dry it will never come back.
