I went last year but didn't sit in on any of the seminars. I'm going to try and make a few this year. I did get a chance to speak with Larry Brown outside of the show. I bought a used side by side at a Scheels in Des moines. I was filling out the paperwork and he walked uo and said he used to own it. We talked for an hour or so about birds, dogs, training, etc. He gives a talk about hunting other upland birds that I was thinking about sitting in on.

I would recommend the below seminar. Obviously what comes out of the new farm bill will be the nations backbone in set aside acres.

Pheasants Forever's (PF) second-ever Farm Bill Forum will take place at National Pheasant Fest 2008. At 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 19th, U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Tom Harkin (D-IA), U.S. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson (D-MN), and U.S. Acting Agriculture Secretary Chuck Conner will participate in a panel discussion about the 2007 Federal Farm Bill. The Farm Bill Forum, presented by the law firm Gray Plant Mooty, will be held in seminar rooms 10 & 11 on the upper ballroom level of Saint Paul’s RiverCentre, the site of National Pheasant Fest 2008 presented by Cabela's.

I guess that I'm full with the politics. I'm more interested in all the sessions they have about improving habitat. You couldn't buy the amount of expertise that's going to be there, and the knowledge that they're going to share is worth it's weight in gold. How much time and money gets spent every year on planting the wrong seed, or putting in a tree package but not knowing what you're doing.

I guess some of the dog seminars are going to be worth the time. I am amazed at some of the stuff I read in the dog pages forum.
