Lowrance, not playing nice

I posted this the other day and got a couple of responses, but the post was lost. I have a M68C and my buddy has a X67C. They don't play nice together. We both have out Noise Rejection on High, Surface Clarity on High, and have tried varying the ping speed. They just won't play nice together. Am I missing something? I've read some posts in the past from some of the enlightened, so I know there is a good knowledge base on these products. Help! One reply I got before the crash said to keep the ducer from being below the Ice Line in the hole, and I'm going to try that tonight, any other thoughts?

I have an LX3, and I bought my dad an x67 Icemachine with the understanding that there are ways to make them work side by side. I have interference rejection on mine, but can't find anyway to get his to work in the same house as mine. Incidentaly, we were both very impressed with the x67 after we figured out that it would work with mine shut off.

Also, I seem to remember a posting about the best settings for the x67 from some owners. Could someone please repost those? Thanks, and sorry for the hijacking.

Ping speed high, surface clarity high, noise rejection high and keep both transducers in the hole - do not drop them below the bottom of the ice. You should be good to go. You will tend to lose the digital depth reading on the x67 and it might bug out for a few seconds now and again but the flasher will be reading correctly a vast majority of the time. If you go to graph mode on the x67 you should be even better. I fish an x67 right next to an LX5 and this has worked for me. FYI the narrow beam mode on the LX5 really reduces any problems. Might consider an upgrade.

We tried having the ducers mid level in the hole and we were still refereeing them. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the main depth reading going funky, as long as the side bar remains constant , but the interference gets so bad sometimes that the chart speed slows down and the readings blow out. I'll try the sensitivity adjustment tonight Bandit. Any other ideas?

How close are you fishing? While fishing two people out of the same shack I'll often drill one hole for the transducer that is between the two other holes. The anglers can than each view their bait on the vex/marc/lowan.

We are about 4 ft apart in the permanent house. It may have something to do with the cone's overlapping. We're fishing in 32 ft. right now. It has definitely worsened as we've gotten deeper. I have done the middle hole trick in the portable which solves the problem, but no option for that in the perm.

I have always had difficulty with Lowrance and Vex units cooperating when they are that close AND in deep water. My friend and I travel to LOW every year to ice fish with 'non-ice-fisherman' in overnight sleepers. He has a Vex and I a M68c. No matter what we do, one of us always has some sort of interferance, sometimes we can look past it, other times we simply have to shut one off, fish blind (ish), and take turns. I doubt there is anything you can do to force the issue.

Perhaps running a camera instead of a sonar is an option??? This is what I have been considering for our LOW trips...

My buddy and I also have issues when we get our ice machine and LX-3 too close. It seems to help when I turn my noise rejection on high, and he cycles through his IR button until we get it close enough. I have never had it bad enough were I couldn't read the flasher mode though.

We try to fish further apart, as these are both really high powered units, and there is only so much you can do. When you are putting that much into the water that close together it will be hard to totally get rid of it.

I am just glad that my 334 blows his LX-3 out of the water. So its more his problem than mine... \:\)
