Which Scotty's rod did you get?

24" ML action Perch/Crappie rod.

The first fish I caught was an 18 inch eye the rod performed great. Ended up with 3 more around 14"

I could not believe the difference between the cheaper Frabil equipment I own and a custom rod. Night and Day!

I have a couple that were made for me this year also and I like them both. He does a great job and really builds them to your needs while doing some educating along the way. I'll never buy a cheap-o again, sadly this includes St. Croix combos. I do like their open water rods though.

The only two rods I am using so far this year is my Scotty's deadstick rod and my Thorne Bros. Walleye Sweetheart. They both do 2 different things but to be honest the Scotty's has caught more fish. The fish just want to have that whole minnow/nonjigging presentation on the lakes I've fished this year.

Very nice rods and very reasonable as well. The deadstick is the one I use most.

switched from off the shelf rods to custom 4 years ago- can't say I am an expert, but scotty's and other customs seem to feel more resilient and I have had no problems with breaking or parts coming apart-- well worth the money and feels good too.
