Winter scenes with the Rooster

A few from the past few days under dreary conditions and one from today with sun.

I did this in black & White as the skies were just horrid... nothing special, I was just looking for lines and all I could line up were the tree stumps in the lower left hand corner that run across (3 total).

Then the sunny day came and I was happy to get this habitat shot.

Oh come on! We all know that you put that stuffed pheasant there, you can plainly see your tracks. Seriously though great pictures, the pheasant has to be my favorite because the color just sticks out so well against the reeds.

If I had a shotgun he may have been stuffed later on down the road... or maybe not.

Sweet environmental, buzz. I often like those a lot more than tight portraits, and the brilliant colors in the sun make the bird stand out from his background.

The birds around here are more skiddish than frosty the snowman in july with all our hunting pressure. THere are hundreds of birds but getting close to one is the challenge. Great shot buzz.
