Marcum customer service

Mudcutter

Question

Have one of the first LX-3. Purchased in 2002. Had what seemed a bad ducer go -- not as much "ping ping" from the ducer. Maybe 12-15 trips with it. Thought for sure it was the ducer, and went to many places looking for replacement ducer and no luck,,, good thing,, took it to Thorne Bros in Fridley and hooked up the unit to good ducer, same problem.

Bad head unit. Sent it in to Marcum in Anoka and in 2 weeks a fixed unit good as new with no bill that was sent to me.

That's some customer service, and will lean towards them in the future.

Same exact thing happened to me and my roomate. We both bought LX-3's four years ago. His unit went out after sitting dormant over the summer last year. Mine went out this year. It must be pretty common because I called Marcum and the guy knew what it was right away. I also figured it out when I put a different transducer on and neither mine or my roomates worked with my unit but they both worked with my roomates unit. I dropped mine off in Anoka at the repair center and they sent it to my house in four days. Very good customer service.

Lucky they got it done....my ears hurt from the Vex. humming.

I picked up another LX-3 on Dec. 8. The signal was weak so I put the transducer from my other one on it and it worked fine. Called Marcum on Dec. 10 and they sent out a new transducer. Tested it on Dec. 11 but it was still weak. I called Marcum back and said the new transducer didn't help and I needed it for an LOW trip on the 14th. He said bring it in. I went up there on Dec. 12 and he swapped the power head. It saved the trip for my son and I since most of our fish were caught jigging. Fantastic customer service.
