Does any body make one?

I was wondering if there are any companies out there that make a tip-up/rod holder that works some what like tip up with a flag on a spring and also allows you to reel the fish in with a jig stick.

I know there is at least one company out there that makes them. One was highlighted in the In-Fisherman Ice Guide this year... I don't recall the name, though.

Quite a few of them on the market.. Depending on legality in your state, you can buy them on a set trigger as well.. Ones that set the hook for you, like the AutoMatic Fisherman...

Or you can look at ones that hold your lure in place, but do not set anything, like the Arctic Warrior from the Clam Corporation.

Both are good products that I use from time to time..

I know I've seen them on TV on a commercial ad. What I believe it is, its the base and guts set up to put your rod into it. The rod is flexed down, so when the trigger point is set, the rod end snaps up, so in theory the hook should be set too...I'm sorry I can't recall the company or name brand, but I know they are out there...I'm sure another FM'er will know...

There is one called the automatic fisherman. The one thing about some of these setups like the auto fisherman is they are illegal in MN. I see you are in SD, but I don't know the laws there.

Yeah im not sure what the laws are here in SD im going to try to do some research. I do alot of fishing in Minnesota so it would be an issue there. I've got mixed feeling on the autoset type. It eliminates one of the best parts about hooking into a fish and feeling its size at that moment. But I would assume it would help elimate gut hooks but in some bodies of water/cetain days i have noticed that the fish take a long time to get the entire hook in the mouth and you may miss the fish by it setting the hook to quickly.

I have just the thing, and it works beautiful.

Its called "all season tip up", clamps on a bucket, can be used inside a shack or out, and is legal in MN.
