What's worked best for you guys fishing walleyes this season? I've caught more on a plain red hook and minnow than any of the above with the buckshot a close second.

But if you use both, you've got a killer combo. In a two-man shelter, put a minnow/bare hook under a bobber or on a deadstick in one hole, and jig in the other.

If the 'eyes are on fire, they'll grab whatever you're jigging. If they are neutral/negative, they'll still be attracted to the flash/rattle/thump of whatever spoon or Rap or Nils you're jigging, but lots of times will turn away and see that seductive minnow 2 feet away, and will slam it.

Over time, I get about half my fish on one, half on the other.

even though i'm constantly jigging, most of my fish have come on tip ups with glow red jigs and plain red hooks, as for jigging, angel eye glow red has worked good and so has a minnow colored nilsmaster

Almost all of my fish this year have come off of either a Chart/Glow Glow-Devil or a Pink/Glow Angel Eye Jr.
In the past it was a Pearl/Chart Do-Jigger, but this year the Scenic lures have been the ticket for Cats, Eyes, Perch and Crappie.

Angel eye and little glow crappie jig with a crappie minnow worked well on Tonka.

Same Angel eye got me a 17" eye on Mille Lacs, but nothing on set line. Only been to Mille once this year. Going tomorrow for the whole weekend though.

The majority of my fish this year have come on the plain red hook set up as well (one of those years you don't need all the cool stuff, I guess) and a green angle-eye when they're more aggressive in the twilight hours. Buckshots a distant third.

Good luck fishin!

I've done pretty good on the chart. buckshot spoons this year haven't had much luck on the angle eyes. I have been fishing some smaller lakes in mahnomen county and a combo of either a tip-up or a deadstick with a # 6 FROSTEE jig in blue glow with a nice fat chub and jigging that rattle spoon has done pretty well for me. I have also caught a few on small jigging raps, rocker minnows, just a plain thin wire hook and a shiner or a fat chub.

I have in past seasons had great sucess with both the buck-shot and Nils master jigging shad, with the Nils being a favorite. The slipbobber rod using the icebuster bobber as they are so easy to set and there is no resistance for the fish always at years end accounts for 40-50% of the total take on walleyes. This year was the first year I have used a Angel eye spoon and well lets just say the other two jigging lures I refered to have spent more time in the box and not in the lake. I really like how this spoon fishes it has a great slow fluttering fall that just works!!! The Nils is still a favorite for me and always will be it's a geat lure. I have however sort of fell out of favor with the buck-shot spoon. It fishes so much heavier then the angel eye. I fish mostly in clear lakes where I think flash is more of an attractant than noise. Given the right conditions the Buck-shot spoon has its place. Hey thats my $0.02 for what its worth.
