O.K. after a little break I'm back and have a question for all you guy's.

What do you think was the biggest thing to happen in Nascar for the 2007?

I guess the one I would point to would be Jr. leaving DEI.

Definitely the biggest news maker of the 2007 season.

I will agree with the lawdog and go with the new COT cars. A big change for NASCAR for years to come.

Agreed... Jr.s leaving was something I think many could see coming. Wanting 51% of the company as part of a contract deal just wasn't going to happen, so it was just a matter of time.

This COT is going to be around for a long time I'm afraid. Hopfully there will be modifications made that will somehow make the big-track racing worth watching....otherwise we will see a bunch of get in line single-file racing until the last 50 or so laps.

by the way, for whatever little tiny bit its worth, I think Gibbs switching to Toyota is way bigger than Little E switching teams. I mean driver changes happen all the time. A top tier Chevy team with multiple Cups defecting to Toyota, now that's news...

I would somewhat agree with the Gibbs switch. In fact I forgot all about it.....maybe because it really didn't seem that big of a deal and the media really didn't think so either. It just didn't really shake things up that much at the time. Kinda ho-hum... Must have been something else bigger happening during that period of the season because it was a flame that really didn't burn for very long and smoldered out quick.

I still feel that Jr. leaving the company his father built was more of a shock this year, and probably moreso WHO he was going to drive for next. I think there were people that felt it might happen, but it still was a shock that the relationship with his step mother fell apart so badly and they couldn't work it out. That entire ordeal made the most news for sure.

Not that it was anything big, but what about the controversy that has been quite apparent between Tony Stewart ad Kyle Busch and they are now teammates?

Not necessarily big news, but man...that could get interesting as the new season starts...

I guess in the Gibbs switch to toyota, I'm not too surprise because these cars are basically identical. Yota drops a ton of money into their programs and over time, they may dominate just like they do in trucks now... Time will tell how this toyota deal will come down..

Funny...I forgot all about that until I made the new post on predictions for the 2008 season. Your right, that was pretty big news late this season. I think it will be big news next season as I think the Gibbs bunch is going to struggle.

I wd have to agree with many that Little E leaving was big but Gibbs will be something to see also,I was looking at the nascar site and just keeping up with all the driver and sponsor changes will be tough.What do you guys and gals think of the new rules for 2008?I mean for the chase point system.
