I Had Some Fun Today!

I had more fun shooting photos today than I've had doing anything in a long time. I went to the river where there was some open water this afternoon. I climbed down the river bank and sat on the shoreline. I had ducks and geese coming in like mad. I had a flock of about 30 geese land probably 15 feet away from me. It was unbelievable! Here's a few of my favorite shots. All of them are full frame, no cropping. I had geese come so close that I couldn't focus.

You know what? That's the best title for a photo sharing thread I've seen in a long time.

Fun. Just a lot of fun. That's what photography should be.

And lots of nice images here, Mike. Plenty of variety in composition and exposure. I like the last one the best because of the drama of the splashdown and the simplicity of the exposure.

What a day! Isn't often you can get waterfowl with that kind of background! I love the third one - the drake with the out of focus wings. Also think the group shot on the water is really neat!

Those are some grand photos. I love the bif shots. Like Steve, my fave is the last one, with the uncluttered background.

I'm glad you like them. I always enjoy taking pictures but sometimes you forget that your out there to enjoy the experience because you get so caught up in getting the right shot. This time I did both and it was really a great time. I know what I'll be doing more of this winter. I learned a lot this time out so hopefully next time will be even better.

Hey buddy. They all look great. I think my favorite is the 2nd one. Can't wait to get together on some outings this winter now that hunting season is almost done.
