But an increase in genetic info MUST occur in order for evolution to happen. The question is where does this information come from? A human is much more complex than a single-celled critter. So if we ultimately came from them where did we get this extra DNA?

You are wrong on many levels. You arguments are only half-truths.

First, you definition of mutation is wrong. Google it.

Second, once you understand how mutations come to be, you will grasp how organisms change.

I realize your mind is already made up and I am not going to change it over an internet forum. You are going to believe whatever you WANT to believe, and that's the end of it.

wd-40 yup yup. has anise oil in it. anise is that black licourice smell in plastic worms. does it work? really who knows for sure. mabe they woulda bit anyway. red hook/red line. red line does not reflect ultraviolet light. making it virtually invisible. aint a scientist but that seems ok. red hook. hmmm never seen a study or ad mention that. but if you think about how many different lure companys use red as an attractant i would go with the numbers and say it is one and they can see it. but on the other hand if the fish can't see the hook, what would be the problem? no hook more natural? fishfinders have a unique quality about them. thicker lines/arches usually means bigger fish. thinner lines/arches usually means smaller fish, this holds true whether the line/arch is long or short. ice floats because it has oxygen bubbles trapped inside, and it seems to expand for the same reason.red glow does work better on red lake and green glo does work better on green lake grin.gif . yellow glo works better around Yellow Medicine too. cool.gif fish lose teeth? lol i'm not even gonna... terresrial bugs work for the simple fact that fish are opportunistic that eat anything that emits smells in the water like, oils, particles and that. flick an ash in the water from a tobacco product or the tobacco itself and a sunnie will suck it in and spit it out. just opportunity. heres an urban myth for ya, Muskies aint afraid of anything. think that's true???

diameter of a nickle would have to be longer. long and skinny. as the bobber gets pulled under, resistance would still be there from the bobber trying to force itself to the surface. your best bet..(my grandpappy amos was the best float fisherman ever and taught me everything i know).. when float fishing, put any size bobber on, or any type, as long as it's bigger than you need. weigh the float, line or leader with enough weight so your minnow can barly keep the float under for more than one second. when using bait that won't pull it under, just enough weight to let it stay afloat is perfect. the best floats are any kind with a mast so the bulk of the float can be almost under water but the mast can still be easily seen. but too the myth? a float in the diameter of a nickle would be better than a round one for the purpose of gradual resistance being applied instead of all at once and while being towed through the water by the fish it also would be less resistance due to the fact it would cut through the water easier. even with weight, movement through water would cause a round bobber to create more resistance than a slim one. easier to just cast for fish anyway. easier to release too.

The one that always gets me is when people say that they had a "huge" fish under them because it was a bright red line on their Vexilar. Some of the guys I fish with are big on this one. I hate to burst their bubbles so I never question them, but in my observations, when I use a shiner on an 1/8 oz hook, it is a really big bright red line on my Vexilar. Even a 1/32 shows up bright tipped with a wax worm. What do you guys think?

Bushwacker, here's a quote directly from our site... "The fish mark itself holds a lot of information. With only little experience you can tell if fish are bigger or smaller, because the thickness of the red mark correlates to the thickness of the fish."

I don't know, but for some reason every big fish I've ever caught, somehow has shown up as a little mark, often even smaller than that of my lure. Is that a new stealth technology the fish are using? Sonar avoidance detection, biologically built in?

along the same lines,

We always seem to have more action after a barge goes by

Apparently when barges go by the large wake dislodges/disorientates little critters and minnows from hiding places preditators take advantage of this to feed. I guess the vibration from a train could cause the same reaction.

i don't use a vex much even though my sonar has it as an option but i do use my sonar alot. i have a lowrance 339c i gps. it has a dual transducer and even though the transducer is 1 1/2 the size of a 332 and others of the line the cone for the high frequency (200) is much smaller than it is on a single transducer. as a result i get almost exclusively half arches because fish almost never stay in the cone long enough to complete the arch. now what may sound like a hinderance has become a very nice plus for me. these half arches are either thick or thin. when they are thick they have defined colors in them. red, yellow, blue in shades of each. also even though they are halved they are still long fat halfs and short skinny ones. if a bigger fish goes through a regular cone sideways to the way you are moving you get a half arch. it may br thicker but it will be extremly hard to detect it. just too many variables. with the thinner cone it is readily identified because EVERY fish is seen and detected the same way no matter whitch way you/it are moving, making the variables fewer. i tool around WBL alot jigging 7'' storms and when i see a very fat half arch with a thick dominant yellow center near the bottom in 20+ feet i put the electric in circle mode and get alot of big pike and muskie. with my old one i could never tell this stuff no matter how many times i tried. i could never get a definite pattern between bigger and littler fish. on the croix i use it alot in the same way to search for large cats inside holes with limited success so far. i have gotten a couple good fish but i still need practice. full arches shmull arches i say. so the myth of big /little arches the way i see it is contingent on what your sonar does. i've seen both sides and i'm only able to figure out one. wider cones as far as i'm concerned are less able to see a difference than thinner cones are. i'd love to get Lindner in a boat and pick his brain on this. grin.gif

The big fish you catch that you don't see on your flasher probably come in very quickly and smack the bait, and they're probably coming into the cone at the exact depth of your bait.

As for summer units, telling big fish does depend on too many variables, but in the Winter, you can tell size on a Vex.

I don't know about you guys but I have caught alot of big fish that I didn't even see on the vex and I was looking right at it most times and the other times I was probably dinkin' around trying to find something to eat

TOMMY T

ICE DOG 1 out

I get that a lot with the small cone... grin.gif

I like those sneaky ones...little faint signal line...you think little fish with light tap...Next thing signal is gone and drag is spinning...

What I hate most is extremely hard signal going up and down the flasher graph, then sits on your bait and then vanishes. Those are the times that I'd wish underwater camera would be very useful...

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
