Artic Armour camo with pics

I just received my AA from WalleyeDan and I am very impressed with the quality and all of the great features. I really like the neoprene cuff with Velcro adjuster because no water is going down your arm if it is raining or you put your arm in the water to grab a fish. The other thing that I thought was a good feature was the gater on the bibs and then you zip down and snap shut and you still have a strap that will close the bottom of your bibs around your boots. Tons of pockets and the extra padding in the rear and knees will be nice on ice as well as in the deer stand. I think that I will still use my fleece outer layer on top when deer hunting to minimize the noise even though it is very soft material. The reason I posted pics is that on another thread it was referred to as Mossy Oak but it is Mossy Oak duck blind so I wanted to show everyone what it looked like up close. This is the back of the jacket from about 2 feet away for what is worth.

Just saw in the new issue of "Wildfowl" magazine that Arctic Armor's Duck Blind Jacket was a featured new product.

Waterfowlers are going to absolutely love the Mossy Oak version of Arctic Armor. "Duck Blind" just happens to be the name given to Mossy Oak's newest camo pattern if there was any confusion.

There is a big difference between the Red/Black Arctic Armor material and the Mossy Oak camo material. The camo is much softer and quieter which both duck and bow hunters will really appreciate. Other than that, all other properties of the suits remain the same.

I know I'll be wearing some next fall in the duck blind.

The camo verson was definitely a hit with the duck and bowhunters at the show this weekend. Like Hanson mentioned the fabric is soft and quiet. As a duck hunter I can see the how it would be a great suit to have. laugh.gif

How AA suits when it comes to durability. i know that i like carhart becuase they can be used all year round for everything from hunting to fishing to sledding. i mean how would they take a barb wire fence or something similar??

Well I havent ever climbed a barbwire fence ice fishing so I dont know. wink.gif Hunting it may be a issue.

Seriously though Carhart is a lot heavier material and I love my Carhart extremes, they have been very good to me for the past 4 years. Bulletproof I guess you could say. Except to heat and water.

A few things about the Carhart extremes I didnt like was the serious weight I had on with the bibs and jacket. 2nd was they arent waterproof and 3rd they will retain water and sink you. They also werent as wind proof as I thought they would be.

The AA is very wind proof, waterproof and very light. Of course if you drag them across barbwire you are going to cut them up. I would guess any product would be.

I will surely put my AA through the test this winter, ice fishing, 4 wheeling, shoveling and snowblowing and this spring I will even jump in Lake Superior in my AA if someone wants to video it. I dont want to test its floatation this winter by any means. wink.gif

So I guess the Carharts are going to be more heavy duty and durable but the Arctic Armor is just as warm, way lighter, waterproof and could save your life.

To me they were a must have.

WalleyeDan check your HSOforum you have good news.

I can't even compare my Carharts to the Arctic Armor. Sure, my Carharts have put up with a lot over the years, but they are far from lightweight, waterproof, bouyant and comfortable.

I certainly wouldn't buy a second Arctic Armor suit (camo)if I didn't believe it is the greatest piece of winter/outdoor clothing I've ever worn. grin.gif

I wore mine hunting and went through some rough trees with it. Didn't cross any barb wire, don't really intend to, but it held up with what I went through great. I don't like to spend a lot of money on jackets and such, but I had heard good things and wanted to try them. I will say they are well worth the money and when these wear, I buy more.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
