I saw him...

I finally saw a buck I'd like to loose an arrow at. It took harvey lee to hold my hand and tell me exactly where to go to see him, but I finally got a look at him. He was about 80 yards through the woods and I couldn't see him too well, but I did get a peak at him and he's definitely a nice buck. He was with a decent 8 pointer (and a doe) and he was considerably bigger than him. I tried to bleat him over to me, but he wouldn't leave the tail of the gal he was with. Can't wait to get back out and try close the distance another 50 yards.

Go get the deer and show him off. They are in there if one can get on the right trail where they are running.

Have you never saw him before? What changed or what did you change to find this guy??

Nope, I've never seen him before. However, it sounds like harvey lee has seen him. The big change was this- I was sitting in spots where there weren't many deer, plus I think I got hit with a little run of bad luck (coyotes ruined my night three times this year). Also, I haven't been able to sit as much as usual- wife, work, and the addition of a new family member have added to my responsibilities at home. And, I was lucky enough to be able to go on a week long trip to WY in Sep. All of that has resulted in me hunting less this Fall around home.

So... I went where he suggested an WHAMMO! I saw a nice buck. Sorry, nothing too helpful for anyone else, but I'd be lying if I tried to pass it off as me briliantly thinking of the "right spot" to sit based on factors X, Y, and Z. Now, I just need to figure out when I can get out there again to try close the distance a little.
