Turkey hunting, the Off Season

Borch

Recommended Posts

Well I'm gearing up for the pre-pre-season of turkey hunting. After I get my application in there has always seemed to be a lull that I fill with ice fishing. I just took and inventory of my wood and other supplies and put orders in for more that I need. It's close to sawdust making time turning chunks of wood into sweet sounding turkey calls.

I'm getting the shakes as I haven't turned a call since late June when the heat of summer drove me out of the shop. I'll be getting my garage heater hooked up in the next week or so and I'll be ready to see what calls are hidden under all that wood. laugh.gif

Anyone else getting the itch?

Borch,

I'd like to see how that's done. Maybe I can come visit your shop and see you work one up this winter. Then we could sneak off to the 'Shoe for some cats. Sound like a plan?

Well my shop is my garage. So not a tradtional woodworking shop.

But that would definitely work. laugh.gif

O yea I've been turning some orders now and Im pumped. Since Im a custom call maker I would like to see some of the pots you made. I'll hopefully post a slate/slate call that I made out of a piece of crotch walnut.

Take Care

I made them for prizes in a turkey hunting contest we held here on HSO. Folks seemed to like them as did the turkeys I called in. ;\)
