mnhunter2
Looking for a light weight auger, 4 stroke, wondering if strikemasters strike-lite auger has been working out okay?
0 zamboni
I have one and I love it. No problems this far, starts easy, and lugging it around is a breeze. Best part is pulling up to the pumps and just putting gas in it, no mixing
0 Cliff Wagenbach
Check out the Nils Master augers! They are not 4-strokes, but are very light, tough, start easily, and cut thru ice like butter! They are also almost smoke free when Amsoil is used in the gas mixture at 100:1. 0 hanson
IMO... here's the rub with the Strike-Lite- The plastic auger flighting on the shaft is what saves the weight, but it is not that durable and ices up horribly. If you punch 20 holes sequentially, when its below 0 outside, the auger head where the blades are attached will pack so full of slush and ice you can't cut anymore holes.Once you replace that plastic auger shaft with a regular steel Lazer shaft, you have lost your weight savings and added another $100 to the price tag. But the Strike-Lite is an awesome, awesome auger in this configuration. We have had motor problems with ours as well, specifically the 4 stroke oil leaking into the combustion chamber.
