0 Jeremy airjer W
There has been a few conversations about the ford recall concerning the cruise control lately. I know there is an issue with the switch on the master cylinder. This may or may not be the source of your problem. We have some good ford guys here and I'm sure they will chime in when there get a chance.
0 Valv
Try to lift your brake pedal with your foot, even if it seems up, then set cruise. Sometimes the brake switch gets off adjustment and won't let cruise engage. It happened to me once, was an easy fix, but took forever to find out. 0 Ryan_V
I will try that valv....thanks. I had the recall done, but that didn't fix anything, that was just installing a fuse. any other ideas??
0 icechipper
Pull off the wire connector where that new fuse link connector plugs into the break switch, if the break switch connector is full of break fluid it is bad. I just went through this with ford and they replaced the switch under the recall. I have a sheet on the recall if you want it.
0 Scott K
My first step of diagnosing cruise controls start with-1) checking master cylender switch for fluid, is it leaking?2) does the horn blow?3) does all the brake lights work?4) is the airbag light on?5) check fuses, all ok?After this it gets more technical!check power and ground at servoCheck resistanse of cruise switch at the servocheck cruise cableIf all that is ok, then it most likely needs a servo!
