Tippman
I know this sounds like talk but it's true. Today when checking one of my trail cams I saw a commotion and there before me was a pure white squirrel. He wasn't far away and I tried to see if he even had pink eyes but there was too much in the way to tell. This was pretty neat since I even shot a white mallard earlier this year. (if you look at the waterfowl forum you prob. saw the pics) But to top it off as I was walking out to my stand along the edge of a corn field I heard a squirrel screaming ahead with alot of commotion. At first I thought a fox or bird of prey might had gotten him but then figured it was probably just two of them fighting and making a bunch of noise. As I neared the base of the large white oak the noise came from I could see the tail of what appeared to be a squirrel and then a white object from behind I just figured was an old plastic jug or something. After briefly stopping just 10 yrds away I continued walking and a white fox took off and a fox squirrel flew out of his mouth! My initial reaction was that it was a cat but seeing it run away there was no mistaking it. It had an all white body with perhaps small amount of color to face and grey fox appearing tail. The squirrel tried to climb back up a tree but didn't make it far and fell back to the ground. He was about dead already. Must be the year of albino's for me. Now I have to decide if I'm going to put the effort into trying to trap him. The squirrel I will probably pursue later as well.
MOBY RICHARD*
Really cool story Tippman! I have never seen a White Fox, that is extra cool...hope you can get a picture of it!!! Maybe they have all been getting into the Bleach Bucket... I have seen a number of all White and all Black Squirrels, though not sure if they were True Albinos. Some of the White ones had Pink Noses, but I think a true Albino lacks coloration in the eyes and on the paws also, which makes them appear pink, otherwise I think they are considered just a White Phase Critter, meaning they only got the White Fur, and not the other colors. Do you have a picture of the White Duck?? Was it a wild species, or a Domestic with unclipped wings gone Renegade?? I have only seen the Renegade variety hangin' with the Wild Bunch... Of course I have seen White Snowshoe Hare...in the Winter...but not Albinos. Also a White Ermine, with the Black Tip on tail, of course thats a Winter coat too... I have seen one Completely White Fawn, in a State Park, I think it was Albino, andin another area, three partially White Deer...two of the partials just had White Patches on their sides and I think one of them was Mama to the other two, the third one was All White from tip of nose to about in front of forelegs, and then normal color from there back...quite a site!!! Unfortunately someone shot the third one as a Spike Buck, so not as impressive as it would have been, and the others were shot also, so no chance for them to pass along their anomaly... Shack
We had an Albino buck running around the Cargill land next to my parent’s house in Elk River back in the late eighties! Some one got it on some private land to the west and it was in the paper! I had seen the deer when I was walking on the old Snake Trail. It crossed right over the road in front of me! I would trap the fox and the squirrel you can always find later. They never roam to far and they have routines that they follow daily. If you can cross his path and set up a deer stand or a good spot on ground, you should be able to find him again!Good luck!

IFallsRon
Several years ago, I got photos along Hwy. 10 south of Randall of an apparent albino deer. We saw it in the ditch and by the time I got stopped and the camera out it was a couple hundred yards away but clearly visible.
