Full moon fever

Recommended Posts

Me and a few photog friends have had the Friday night full moon marked for months, hoping for a good sky up at Split Rock Lighthouse. It was the largest moon we will see of the year by another 1/3 in size I was told. Add to that the fact that the sun was still up in the west for a short while as the moon was coming up allowed for a lit up lighthouse vs a typical silhouette shot. Here are a few from Friday night and a saturday morning boatwreck.

Framing up the Moon between the norweigan riviera (Ellingson Island) and the Lighthouse.

As it rose still with some sunlight at our backs.

A little later when we were losing light.

We had lost the light at our backs, so a few of us rushed up to the lighthouse to see if we could get a nice gradient in the sky while getting a silhouette of the lighthouse.

The next morning we discovered a boat that had seen better days.

Let the light be your guide.
