LED Flashlights

I was at Gander today and I noticed a bunch of LED flashlights have either red, green or blue bulbs along with the white ones. Does anyone know the advantage of having a green or blue bulb?

The red shouldn't affect your night vision as much as the white light does. Green may be the same thing but I'm not sure.

I was once told that the blue light will help with finding blood spots in the dark. I bought one and can tell you that the blue does not help at all. The LED light is nice but white is what I will stay with.

They also say that the red cannot be seen by deer......I have never tested it and will stick with the white light and just go in to the stand a little earlier.

I've heard the red isn't as not noticable by deer too.

I like the red LED while getting my stuff organized in the stand.

I bought one of those LED lights for your head, on the recommendation of a fishing guide. It has a white or green light. I was told animals can't see the green - I can't prove or disprove that statement. What I can say, the green light is great when with others, it's not blinding like the white light. The purchase was worth the money and look forward to using a hands-free light walking to the deer stand.

The green is a nice benefit when with others. When we are at elk camp sitting around the table playing cards, it is nice to turn the green on every now and then and not blind everyone.
