BigTen
Unfortunately there are lots of stories just like yours about him floating around, NE angler. Foiles is losing cred at a record pace among the people who are plugged in.
fish4cats
Just my input on Jeff Foiles, never liked him and never will. I believe he is detriment to the sport of goose hunting and he is the type that will ruin it for the rest of us when the animal rights activists, etc get wind of the things he does and has done. His name to me is Jeff Spoiles.
Sartell Angler
as long as he is in the business to make money he will keep doing controversial stuff to rake in the dough...and as long as there are guys out there who want to see the "grindage" he puts out in his videos there will continue to be this debate over Jeff Foiles. Personally, anyone who intentionally shoots a bird after it is already dead is a detriment to our sport and a liability in terms of the publicity we as hunters receive from the media. I'd like to see a hunting show focused on the WHOLE hunt...from picking the spot, to setting out the dekes, to watching the sunrise, to working / shooting birds, to watching the dog work, to the conversation and comradarie in the blind, to picking up, etc. To me that would be far more exciting than seeing a bunch of birds exploding in mid air. If I wanted to see that I'd start raising pigeons, stuff their butts with firecrackers and go to town...
benelli_dude2002
I got 3 of his videos. I also have few of the Zinks videos. everyone has their own way of filming and what people like to see. I do a Buck Gardner video that I watched once and now it collects dust ( i think i wasted 10 bucks ) cuz I didnt think it was near as good as Foiles and Zinks videos. I dont have any of Foiles calls but i know guys that do and they sound pretty good. I think they are good shooters plus I dont mind seeing a bird getting dusted pretty good once in awhile. Bring it on! Fallin Skies 5 will be added to my collection when it comes out.

ice-man/vexilar-king
Sartell Angler, Have you checked out the video Border Patrol? I think this kind of DVD is what your talking about and its Minnesota hunting. Scheels in Mankato has them in stock, one of the few in the area. huntingmaxima
ICE MAN Where did you buy the baikal teal?
ice-man/vexilar-king
I didn't buy it. Found the pic surfing the net and stole it. OOops! I have always thought it was a challenge shooting those little guys diving in or swooping by at 70mph. Seen this picture of a Baikal and thought someone would have a cool hunting story about them. California may be the closeest place for us to get one? Cool looking guy isn't He? My den would invite him.
hanson
I don't want to dredge this topic back up again but I just watched Fallin' Skies 4 for the first time tonight and I really didn't see anything in that video that caused me much alarm. There were 2, or 3, slow mo sequences where a duck got dusted twice. Was the 2nd shot intentional? Who knows. Was the 2nd shot from a different shooter who was tracking the same duck and pulled the trigger right after it got shot the first time? Who knows.Yes, there were ducks getting dusted on the water. I wouldn't even say thats questionable as we hunt a ton of divers and they dive all they time if they are crippled. If a diver hits the water and appears to still be swimming in my blind, he's getting a follow up shot. Better than having a crippled duck dive and never come up.I have not seen some of the previous videos that reference the "4th shell" but I would have no problem recommending this video to anyone. It might not be the most exciting video in the world, but hey, its a $10 video at Wal-Mart. Most of the hunting action seams appropriate and what would occur in a real life hunting situation.Like I said earlier, the Duckmen series of videos is way more graphic than any video I have watched with Foiles. Kyle
did you fail to notice the canadian goose being shot on the ground, in the decoys at like 5 yds??? Guess so.
fishhawk1750
At 5 yrds I bet he didn't have to chase the cripple like I did this weekend! Left the gun in the blind, 15 minutes later and several attemps brought me back to the blind to retrieve the gun. I would have shot the thing at 1 yard after that
Kyle
It wasnt a cripple, it was just a bird that landed in the decoys. Guess my ethics are just a little different.
palisade1kid
I've shot on the ground & I've shot em in the air. They all taste the same once they are ground up into lunchmeat. As to Jeff Foils calls.Straight Meat rocks!
Kyle
I agree his calls are pretty awesome! However, after who ever it was on fallin skies 4 ground pounded that goose in that field at 5yds, I highly doubt there was anything left to salvage. People need to start respecting the life of the animal they are choosing to kill.
