A quick search of the net shows nothing in terms of a new world record. Until the story and legitimate photos come out with a certification, we might as well put it to bed.

There are some pics floating around once again of a giant pike caught overseas, cant quite remeber the details but these pics pop up on this site a couple times a year with someone claiming world records and what not, but I beleive where this fish was caught they get a lot bigger, maybe even a variation of the species. Someone will come up with the pics pretty soon and post them I am sure, I was just emailed them a few days ago claiming it was caught in canada which it was not, and like I said, these pics are years old.
