Universal sonar connection

I had a two year old Minnkota PD with universal sonar hooked up to a 522c. Now, I have a new Minnkota V2. I haven't hooked it up yet, but will my old universal sonar connection work for this new trolling motor?

No. The V2 uses the newer US2 adapters (metal plug). Wider transducer cone and dual frequency.

What Kato said is true. It is a shielded connection on the V2, and the old PD was not. That is why you need a new adapter cable. Make sure it says V2 on the package.

Yep there are a different number of pins in the connector to the US. I mistakely bought the wrong one for my Version 1 trolling motor and had to return it.
