Unbelievable!

Saturday I was out on Lake Geneva trying to find some walleyes. The bait shop I stopped at was only able to offer me some shiners so I picked up a few.

I was working a rather long underwater ridge out in the middle of the lake when I began to notice some extremely light taps on my line. I was getting frustrated because I wasn't able to get a hookset and eventually decided I should check out my minnow and hook. When I realed in, to my surprise I discovered I now had two shiners on my jig. I actually caught a 3" spot-tail shiner! I couldn't believe it and I'm sure most anyone out there could here me busting a gut on that one.

Unfortunately I was unable to coax any walleyes into action even after it started to rain.

This spring I snagged a perch through the back that was the same size as the crappie minnow I was using.

while fishing last winter on LOW, dad hooked into a sauger on a jigging spoon that looked like it told the minnow it could have the day off!!!

A few winters ago I was fishing crappies on S. Center and got into a school of shiners. They looked like suspended crappies on the FL-18.

I've also caught a few golden shiners on Chisago fishing spring crappies.

We caught several shiners fishing for sunfish on Osakis a week or so ago. Happens if you're using small enough baits.

I was trolling a TDD 11 in perch color and caught a perch that was smaller than the lure???

I can't tell you how many crayfish I've caught in the past years up in Vermilion. When the bite is light, there was no way I could tell the difference.

Maybe it was trying to form a new school with your shiner and got too close to your jig.
