Unbelievable!

Saturday I was out on Lake Geneva trying to find some walleyes. The bait shop I stopped at was only able to offer me some shiners so I picked up a few.

I was working a rather long underwater ridge out in the middle of the lake when I began to notice some extremely light taps on my line. I was getting frustrated because I wasn't able to get a hookset and eventually decided I should check out my minnow and hook. When I realed in, to my surprise I discovered I now had two shiners on my jig. I actually caught a 3" spot-tail shiner! I couldn't believe it and I'm sure most anyone out there could here me busting a gut on that one.

Unfortunately I was unable to coax any walleyes into action even after it started to rain.

Happens if you're using small enough baits.

The strange thing was that I was using a 1/4oz. ball jig and a 3" shiner.

Maybe it was trying to form a new school with your shiner and got too close to your jig. wink.gif
