harvey lee
Thats all I have to say about NASCAR and COT races. Between the coverage on tv and those boring who will win COT races, why will people bother to watch anymore. When 4 of the top 13 are C pool racers, doesnt say much for racing at its best. I will say this for NASCAR, I dont know if they could mess things up anymore. The great COT and top twelve.
Meaney
Harvey, I was thinking the exact same thing last night after the race... I just dont get excited anymore for the races. All it is ever, is gordon or johnson. I should just become a johnson fan... ok ok, that was too extreme, I would never do that
Sifty
I think we need someone to go to Rochester and check on Meaney. Sifty

Harmonica Bear
Interesting, we were up north this weekend and we listened to the radio broadcast and thought it was one of the most exciting races of the year. Not that we wanted to be anywhere else, but there was some whining about missing this one on TV. Guess we didn't miss much at all.
harvey lee
I dont know if I can put a finger on it but, its seems from week to week I really dont care if I watch the race or not. Is it the COT or the poor coverage with all the added commercials?? If it wasnt for the fantasy leaque, I would probably not even watch the race at all. berdman
I was at the race here in Richmond and yes it was boring! Usually the last race here is all about taking someone out of the race so you can make it in. Not anymore. Their too scared of the Big fines. All the car body's are the same. It only matters if you have an engine that can make the whole race (not DEI). Can you say WWE!!!
outdoor ran
I thought it was alot better then Bristol. Jmo
Eric Wettschreck
Tom, it's the commercials. I realize they are a necessary evil but come on, 20 minutes of commercials, 2 minutes of race, another 20 minutes of commercials.Boring.
berdman
It was better than Bristol. Most of the people are giving up their season tickets to Bristol after they resurfaced it. Just not the same. Two Red flags and 30 minutes for each wasn't very exciting. I think that was when most of the rowdy fans were hauled off. Got bored and found things to do. There was someone that found the frequency for MRN radio and kept breaking in when the commercials played. They were entertaining to say the least. Shack
For harvey Lee to say this about NASCAR, this means this sport is peaking or has peaked. Is it down hill from here?
harvey lee
Only means it's boring to me. I'm sure there are others who totally enjoy it. All these commercails during the race really bug me. Seems they are always at a bad time during the race. I know that they want to make money and pay the bills but the coverage with these commercials stink.
Macgyver55
Harvey echoes my sentiments exactly. I'v been a big fan of Nascar since the late 80s. I rarely missed a race. Since the death of Dale Sr. it seems like its done nothing but go down hill. I'm at the point now where I only watch a taped race to cut out all the garbage. Shack
I will admit some of the passion has left this sport when Dale died. That is a fact!Maybe too much passion has left sport. I think not, but NASCAR I think has had an up hill battle with the amount of sponsors/ viewer since the death of Dale. An add that would sell for one price before his death, sells for a different price now. Thus means more commercials to get to the same amount of money. That or they are just money hungry. I do not know, just a view point. Again, I am not a huge NASCAR fan. I still follow. The one thing I have noticed since Dales death, is decline of passion for the sport with fellow co-workers. Just is not the same talk around lunch hour, as it was 4 to 6 years ago.IMO!
TNFL
I think the lack of support is directly related to the poor performance of a certain most popular driver. A lot of people placed thier bets on the wrong horse, and now its no fun when their guy runs like warm garbage. Now with Jr driving for the "so called" enemy next year it will be even more intersting to see where the sport goes. If he still tanks, its all over. But, even if he wins will he still have as much support???
Cheeser
I'm with Boilerguy - too many commercials. It's a sad statement when I enjoy the race more when listening to MRN then watching it on TV. I got spoiled in the '90s when you could watch the wild feed on satellite with no commercials...ah, the good old days.
