Windy City Walleye Hunter
Then you have to go with the pie fillings for dessert. We used to call them "pudgy pies" when I was a Boy Scout master with my two sons, who are now both Eagle Scouts. I used to go for the apple or peach but a lot of the boys would always go for the chocolate pudding filling. Nice way to end a good campfire mealWindy
LABS4ME
We do the pies and pizza as above, apple w/ cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on the bread after is done w/ vanilla ice cream is the best! but my wife's favorite are Ruebens... Corned beef, saurerkraut and swiss cheese on rye or pumpernickle... on those nights the kids usually just do a meat (ham, roast beef or corned beef) and swiss melt. I did chili cheese dogs last time we did them... skin on hot dogs pre-cooked and split in quarters, American cheese and a dollop of chili. We've also done "tacos" or mexi-melts. Pre-cooked taco meat or shredded chicken (available in your meat section) mexican or pepper jack cheese, green onion pieces and tomatoe pieces and a little taco sauce. The sky is the limit. If you can put it between 2 slices of bread and melt it, it'll be good. Good Luck! Ken
Walleye Guy
I have to second the Rueben. Make sure you "roll" your sauer kraut in a paper towel to extract the extra liquid. This keeps the bread from getting too wet. Using a good bread is also key. Don't forget to butter the outside of the bread. The pizza's are also very good. CALVINIST
Make a fish pie.Butter 2 slices of breadsalt and pepper (or whatever spices you want) a couple sunfish filetsadd a slice of your favorite cheese. I use provolone. Cook slow, as the bread will have a tendency to burn if you go too fast!
kjgmh
I like doing breakfast ones, get the Texas toast bread. I like to use scrambled eggs, green pepper, onion, cheese and ham.
grpd
can you scramble the eggs in the pie maker then take them after done and put on the toast with the rest of the things?
